  • Can I paint uPVC fascia and soffit boards?
Technically yes, but it’s not recommended. uPVC fascia and soffit boards come pre-finished in a variety of colours and styles, including woodgrain. Painting them can affect their weather resistance and may void guarantees. If you're after a different look, it's better to choose a board in your preferred finish.
  • How do I install fascia and soffit boards?
Installation involves: Removing the old boards (if full replacement) Fixing the new fascia to the rafter ends Adding soffits underneath Reattaching guttering securely While capping boards can be fitted over sound timber by confident DIYers, full replacements should be done by professionals to ensure long-term protection and proper ventilation. For more help, check out our Fascia & Soffit Installation Guide.
  • What materials are best for fascia boards?
uPVC is the most popular choice due to its durability, low maintenance, and wide range of finishes. Timber offers a traditional look but requires regular upkeep. Composite boards combine wood and plastic, offering the appearance of timber with the resilience of uPVC. Need help choosing? Read our guide to selecting the best fascia board for your home.
  • What are fascias and soffits, and why are they important?
Fascias are the boards fixed to the bottom edge of your roof, where the guttering is attached. Soffits are tucked underneath the fascia, covering the eaves and providing ventilation to your roof space. Together, they protect your home from weather damage, pests, and moisture while giving your roofline a clean, finished look.
  • How do I know when to replace my fascia and soffit boards?
Signs you may need to replace your fascia or soffits include: Peeling paint or warped boards Evidence of rot or water damage Leaky or sagging guttering Pests nesting in the eaves If you spot any of these issues, it’s best to replace them sooner rather than later to avoid further damage.
