Flat soffit, sometimes called utility or general purpose board, is the thinner of the two soffit types. It has no internal ribs, so it needs something solid behind it — existing timber, a short span, or a boarded overhang — rather than bridging an open gap on its own.
That makes it the board of choice on a capping job where the original timber soffit is staying, and on any run where the overhang is supported. Five widths from 100mm to 400mm, all 5m lengths.
A note on lead time. Irish Oak is a special foil rather than a stock colour, so most branches bring it in rather than holding it on the shelf. Allow 3–10 working days. Order the whole elevation together and it all lands at once — it is piecemeal ordering that causes the wait.
