FloPlast’s underground drainage range is engineered for performance below ground, where durability and watertight integrity matter most. Manufactured from unplasticised PVC-U, each pipe and fitting is strong, dimensionally stable, and resistant to the corrosion and deformation that can affect clay or metal systems over time.
Every joint uses FloPlast’s captive double-ribbed seal design — a snap-fit system that ensures quick installation, even in tight trenches, without risking displacement during backfilling. The recessed seal groove inside the socket gives a secure seating area for the ring seal, maintaining high pressure tolerance and preventing joint creep.
All products are BS EN 1401-1 compliant (SN4 stiffness class) and suitable for gravity drainage and sewerage installations up to 10 m deep, as defined in BS EN 752 and BS EN 1610. Components such as inspection chambers, bottle gullies, and traps are injection-moulded in polypropylene (PP) for additional flexibility and impact resistance where movement or vibration may occur.

Installation & Compatibility
FloPlast underground drainage systems are designed to go together easily and stay watertight under pressure. Every component is part of a push-fit, captive-seal system, so there’s no solvent welding or guesswork — just clean joints and reliable seals.
Before laying any pipe, ensure the trench is prepared with a compacted granular bed (typically 100mm) and has a smooth base to support the entire length of the pipe. Joints should be made cleanly — remove any burrs, wipe the spigot end, and apply a thin layer of FloPlast SG800 or SL40 lubricant to help the rubber seal seat properly.
For direction changes, always use the correct radius bend rather than forcing pipe alignment. FloPlast’s fittings are built to allow a small degree of angular adjustment at each joint, helping you follow natural gradients or avoid fixed obstacles without introducing stress points.
Every FloPlast 110mm fitting complies with BS EN 1401-1 SN4, meaning it’s fully compatible with other leading brands such as Marley, Polypipe, Brett Martin, Osma, Hunter, and Hepworth. This ensures you can mix and match fittings if needed on site without losing certification or performance.
Where inspection points are required, FloPlast’s access fittings and chambers provide safe entry for rodding and camera surveys. These can be installed up to 10 metres deep in gravity systems, provided they’re correctly supported with backfill and have load-rated covers where necessary.
Once installed, the system can be tested by air or water pressure as set out in BS EN 1610 — confirming joint integrity before backfilling. The PVC-U construction resists both ground movement and chemical attack, giving a service life expectancy in excess of 50 years when correctly installed.
