Vented soffit has the ventilation slots moulded straight into the board, giving the continuous 10mm air gap a roof needs to breathe at the eaves. No separate vents to cut in, no strip to fit.
Building regs want that airflow on most pitched roofs, and a roof that cannot breathe is a roof with condensation in the loft. Run vented board where the ventilation is required and plain board elsewhere — most jobs use both. Three widths, 5m lengths.
A note on lead time. Irish Oak is a special foil rather than a stock colour, so most branches bring it in rather than holding it on the shelf. Allow 3–10 working days. Order the whole elevation together and it all lands at once — it is piecemeal ordering that causes the wait.
